// Victim Resource Guide
Surveillance equipment is no longer expensive, specialist, or hard to obtain. A GPS tracker costs $20. A hidden camera costs $30. Stalkerware can be installed in 60 seconds. Understanding the threat is the first step.

// 01 - The Cost of Surveillance Has Collapsed
Until recently, the kind of surveillance equipment used to monitor someone required specialist knowledge, significant expense, and access to restricted channels. That is no longer true. The same technological shift that put a supercomputer in everyone's pocket has also put professional-grade covert surveillance equipment on Amazon and eBay, available to anyone, delivered overnight.
Battery-powered magnetic GPS trackers that report location via the mobile network are available from $20 to $150. They require no installation — they attach magnetically to any metal surface. Battery life ranges from two weeks to several months depending on the model. More expensive models are hardwired to the vehicle's power and run indefinitely.
From $20 — no tools requiredApple AirTags cost approximately $45. Tile trackers are similarly priced. Both are coin-sized, battery-powered, and designed to be hidden in belongings. Apple's global Find My network means an AirTag does not need to be in Bluetooth range of the abuser's phone — any iPhone in the world will silently relay its location.
$45 — available in any electronics storeUSB chargers, smoke detectors, alarm clocks, and power banks containing fully functional cameras with motion detection, night vision, and WiFi live streaming are available from $30 to $200. They are sold openly and look identical to the real product. A basic model records continuously to a memory card. Higher-end models stream live video to any device worldwide.
From $30 — indistinguishable from real objectsGSM audio bugs that transmit live audio via the mobile network — essentially a hidden phone that calls the abuser when it detects sound — are available from $30 to $200. They can be powered by battery or concealed inside mains-powered objects. Once in place, they operate indefinitely without any further physical access.
From $50 — no ongoing access requiredPhone monitoring software that silently records calls, messages, location, and keystrokes is available as a commercial product, typically marketed as parental monitoring tools. Installation requires approximately 60 seconds of physical access to an unlocked phone. Once installed, it is invisible in the app list and survives a phone restart.
60 seconds of phone access// 02 - How Fast Can It Be Done?
One of the most alarming aspects of modern surveillance equipment is how quickly it can be deployed. An abuser does not need extended access to your home, vehicle, or device. They need seconds.
A magnetic GPS tracker can be attached to the underside of a vehicle in under 15 seconds. A hidden camera in a USB charger can be plugged into a power point in under 5 seconds. A Bluetooth tracker dropped into a bag takes one second. None of these require any tools, and none leave any visible trace.
Installing stalkerware on an unlocked Android phone takes approximately 60 seconds — enough time during a bathroom break, while someone is asleep, or during any brief moment of unattended access. On iPhone, access to an Apple ID and iCloud credentials achieves much of the same result without physical device access at all.
You do not need to have given your abuser extended access for surveillance to be present. A brief visit to return belongings, a handover of children, a moment of phone access — any of these is sufficient. If you have had any contact with your abuser in the past six months, surveillance should not be ruled out.
// 03 - What Consumer Detection Cannot Find
The detection gap is the critical problem. Surveillance technology has become accessible and effective. Detection technology has not. There is no consumer product that does what professional TSCM equipment does.
A recording device in standby emits no signal. No app can detect it. No visual inspection will find it if it is concealed inside an object. Only Non-Linear Junction Detection — which identifies semiconductor components regardless of power state — can find a device that is not transmitting.
A 1-2mm pinhole lens at normal viewing distance is invisible. It does not reflect light in a way the naked eye can detect. Professional optical lens detection equipment is required to identify the characteristic reflection pattern of a camera lens.
A GPS tracker drawing power directly from your vehicle's wiring emits no Bluetooth signal and no battery-related RF signature. AirGuard and similar apps will not detect it. Detection requires physical inspection combined with professional RF analysis.
Stalkerware is specifically engineered to be invisible on the device. It does not appear in the app list. It does not appear under Settings. It survives restarts. Finding it requires forensic analysis of the device — not a manual check of installed apps.
Safe Sweep uses the same detection methodology deployed in classified government and corporate environments. These devices are built to defeat inspection. We are equipped and trained to find them regardless.
These devices are engineered to defeat inspection. Finding them takes professional equipment and method. That is exactly what we do.
